I've been putting this off for, unbelievably, 8 years. I graduated high school in 2004 knowing two things; I loved software (specifically web) development, and I wanted to become famous doing it.
I still love web development.
But I'm not famous.
A common theme across my thoughts since beginning my career has been a desire to publish my inane thoughts and experiences and tidbits that one or maybe even two other people will find interesting or helpful. Every time I stumble upon an obscure blog post buried in the search results that happens to contain the exact information I'm looking for, I thank them silently. Firstly, for having had the same problem or question I had. Secondly, and more significantly, for taking the time to make their knowledge publicly available.
I realise that everyone will see the internet through their own shade of glass, that everyone has a very different definition of what the internet is to them - but to me, the internet isn't about news, or pictures of cats or bootlegged movies, the internet is about cataloguing, sharing and distributing knowledge.
I know I'm joining the party late, but I'm ready. I'm ready to become a contributor. I'm also ready to become famous, so let me know if you can help me with that.
